How Do Special Effects Alter The Narrative in Films_
My Bachelor's Dissertation about Special Effects in film, looking at the difference between literary narrative and film language; a history of visual effects and their impact towards the audience; a case study of Lord Of The Rings, and its success in the VFX; examples of good versus bad Visual Effects used in films.
This video is a potential outcome for a Martini Brief Competition in the D&AD Blood Awards 2019. The brand was asking to recreate the idea of enjoying the time with Martini, and the colours were bright and warm, to have a bit of an Italian style. I've started by researching the brand's history and their commercials in order to understand it, than I had the idea of time, as in enjoying the time with friends... for laughs, love, secrets, etc.
This video is part of my Final Major Project in which I wanted to make awareness of a young audience in respons of poor sleep quality. This idea was to show that a lack of sleep can cause severe health problems, cancer being one of them. Using After Effects and Rust-effect to emphisise the impact of sleep, that was represented by a Z (as in Zzz the international symbol of sleep)
the oath - a short story
Based on one of my university projects, the oath is an evocative word that united nations and people as well as their destruction when this word was broken. According to the brief it was meant to collect some objects which represented in a way or another this chosen word. I put them all together in a 3D video story and gave them movement.
Reflexion- a short story
Reflexion is my first short film, in partnership with Daniel Hobbs. I have written, directed and edited the special effects, in order to exercise my skills. Reflexion is inspired by the Butterfly Effect and Inception and tells the story about a depressed boy who encounters a demon...from his own mind.
